2008-09-17 - 7:18 p.m. Jack's World Without Us (2) Continued... Please read the entry before first.
I have not read it yet, but for me this is one of those have to read books. You can probably see why. Reading this book would kind of revisit that fantasy and explain in detail what it would have been like. It also appeals to me because: 1. I am fascinated with urban decay. 2. The sick sense of contentment and satisfaction would come from knowing that in the end, if we did not completely destroy the Earth, nature would triumph. All of that over development would be reclaimed. I would not be there to see it, but it is an almost vengeful comfort thought. It makes me sick how humans have no respect for nature. Nothing is sacred. It kills me to see every last wide open space being turned into more condos. It literally breaks me inside. I have no idea why people are obsessed with living on top of each other like fucking cockroaches. Reading this book would be a sick little laughing comfort. It would make me happy. In a twisted way. Not exactly happy as in cheerful. Happy as in satisfied, I guess.
